Our Various Arm Options
To see the various the different arm treatments that we sell most often on our exposed-wood-arm models, go to the page for our Florida wood sofa model .
Our Custom 05 model (higher-priced fully-upholstered model) has a relatively high arm that is well-padded on the inside, for leaning one's back against it..

Our Virginia model has a low, thickly-padded arm that is most suited for a headrest, not at all suited for a backrest, and lower than the ideal height for an arm rest for most people.
This photo shows the Virginia arm combined with toss pillows, but we normally sell this model without toss pillows (of course, customers often add their own pillows).
Shown here is the "high arm cushion" option,
cushions that can go against one or both arms of the Custom 05
model (shown), the Florida model, the California model, the
Maryland model, or the New Jersey model. The top of this cushion
is approximately even with the tops of the regular,
standard-height (31" floor-to-top) backs. You could put one
of our armless or one-arm sofas, loveseats or chairs up against
that end and the two would make a relatively continuous L-shaped
arrangement, although the appearance would not be first class, as
follows:
1) the level front of the primary seat would be next to a
backward-sloping neighboring seat,
2) the front corners of the seat cushions could come into
reasonable alignment at the inside corner only if the end cushion
is 30" wide,
3) there would be small gaps where the separate pieces come
together, and
4) on three of our models there is normally a widened section at
the end few inches of the front rails; that widened section on
the armless or one-armed piece would come up next to a narrower
section on the front rail of the neighboring piece, causing a
somewhat discontinuous look, in addition to the small gap that
would exist where the two pieces come together. That width
discontinuity could be dealt with by specifying a straight-across
full-height front rail for $20 extra per complete order (that can
be ordered on any model, it's already that way automatically on
the California and Maryland models)..
Price: $110 per high arm cushion (we do this option fairly seldom, and there is special work involved).
